Rainbow House

Rainbow House Children's Resource Center is a non-profit organization located in Houston County whose mission is to serve all children by strengthening the community's response to child abuse and neglect through prevention, intervention and advocacy.

RH provides a friendly atmosphere where abused children, particularly sexually-abused children, can go to be interviewed.  RH works with their team members to see that these children are protected through the judicial process.

Rainbow House oversees three prevention programs: a Body Safety prevention program which teaches body safety classes to elementary age children; First Steps, a primary prevention program through Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, which uses volunteers to support, educate and make referrals to new parents through Houston Healthcare; and RH’s Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Council which meets quarterly to address child prevention issues in Houston County.

The above is adapted from the RH website: www.volunteermatch.org/search/org54598.jsp.

The First Steps program can always use volunteers.  Custodial support volunteers are always welcome.  A criminal background check is required.  RH is a 24/7 activity that is called upon 365 days a year.
