Rebuilding Together

Christmas in April, also known as Rebuilding Together, is a nationwide effort involving local churches, businesses, clubs, organizations, and independent volunteers.

The goal of the effort is to help financially challenged members of the community bring their homes up to a warm, safe and dry standard.  In the past, members of our church have accomplished a wide variety of improvements to these homes.  These improvements have included replacing siding, rebuilding/moving walls, replacing windows, doors, and cabinets, installing and upgrading plumbing and plumbing fixtures, replacing faulty electrical wiring, installing and finishing sheet rock, putting down new floor covering, and painting both inside and out.

If you feel this ministry is for you, a basic handyman’s level of knowledge and skill is helpful, but if you are armed with little more than a desire to help, your spirit will be greatly appreciated.  Typically, the skills necessary to get the job done range from using a paint brush to operating powered tools and equipment.

Another important job is the opportunity to prepare and serve lunch for the team.

Christmas in April has its big push in April, but the efforts to provide the warm, safe and dry standard continue throughout the year.
