Each year on the second Sunday in December, we as a church, bring gifts wrapped only in simple white paper.
These gifts are for foster children whose names have been provided by the Houston County Department of Family and Children’s Services, (DFACS).
Earlier in the year we have requested names for a specific number of children whom we feel we can support at Christmas. These children are identified to us by first name, age, gender and their special requests for Santa. Their names and requests are subsequently distributed to Sunday School classes, other groups, and organizations within the Church.
On White Gift Sunday, the gifts roll in. They are subsequently collected and then delivered to DFACS in time for Santa to make his run. The joy that is seen in the faces of the DFACS workers, let alone the children, is truly a blessing for all of those who are able to be a part of this special event. Be blessed and lend a hand.
In addition to the purchasing and wrapping of the gifts, help is always needed in loading up and delivering the gifts to DFACS. Be ready to be blessed if you do.
