Through monetary gifts and prayer, First United Methodist supports mission projects worldwide through the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries.  We also directly support missionary families serving in the Congo (formerly Zaire, Africa), Tanzania, East Africa, and Russia.  In recent years, work teams have traveled to several mission sites.

LOCAL MISSIONS

First United Methodist Church sponsors and supports numerous local missions including:

• Mother's Morning Out (and Dad's too)

• Parents Night Out

• Clothes Closet

• Soup Kitchen

• Food Pantry

EVANGELISM

We employ a number of means to reach out to people in our community and to bring them to Christ and the Church.  This includes Monday Night Visitation, Revivals, our Television Ministry, new and prospective member classes, and a continuous program of Evangelism Education.
