| | Children are an important part of First United Methodist
Church. A variety of programs and activities are offered for
children. Throughout the year, activities are planned for both the
children and their parents.
Regularly Scheduled Activities and Events:

Sunday School ...
There are classes for children of all ages beginning with 2 year olds and
continuing through 6th grade. |

Children's Church
... Children ages 3-6 are invited to attend Children's Church following the
Children's Time in the Worship service. At this time the children
learn Bible stories and participate in activities that reinforce those
stories. |

Vacation Bible School
... Always one of the high points of the summer, VBS offers the
children a chance to spend more time on a particular topic or Bible
story. Classes are held for children from 3 years to 6th grade.
This week of learning and fun in an informal setting is one of the
highlights of the year for both the children and the congregation. |

Confirmation
Class ... Each year, 6th graders are invited to participate in a time
of preparation for church membership. This thirteen week adventure
culminates with the class becoming full members of The United Methodist
Church. A trip to Epworth by the Sea and Savannah is usually included
as a part of the preparation. |

Summer Outings
... A variety of activities are planned for the summer. These can
include trips to Atlanta for a puppet show, a visit to the Museum of Arts
and Science, a movie day at the church, and more. |
