CHRISTIAN BELIEVER:  KNOWING GOD WITH HEART AND MIND is a 30 week study of the Christian faith; it integrates Bible Study and Christian doctrine.  Christian Believer emphasizes the relationship of worship, belief, and daily life.

THE PURPOSE
The aim of this study is to make available to the people the substance of the faith that the church has confessed through the centuries as a way of connecting to God and living faithfully.

THE PROCESS
Christian Believer groups usually consist of twelve members and a leader.  Each participant makes a commitment to daily preparation (reading and taking notes on Scripture and assigned readings in the book of readings) and weekly participation in the group study session of 2 to 2-1/2 hours.

THE PACKAGE
Each participant receivers a reading package that includes a study manual and a book of readings from Christian sources, both ancient and modern, on the doctrines of the Christian faith.

Christian Believer assumes that many church folk---though faithful followers of Jesus they intend to be---know little of the content of this rich heritage of teaching and its ties to Scripture.  But they want to know.

Participants in the study will:

Explore both the Scriptures and the teachings of the church shaped from the Scriptures.
Read the testimony of God's Word and the creeds and confessions of the church.
Learn the content of Christian doctrine with fellow believers as well as with scores of believers from across the ages -- Augustine, Hildegard, Calvin, Luther, Wesley, and Harkness.

Christian believer begins with disciplined daily reading of Scripture and the writings of early and modern church leaders.  Learning this content of faith result in faithful understanding of the teachings of Christianity and leads to weekly group discussion on the relation of Scripture, beliefs, and daily living.
